This is the Coach Museum in Lisbon. Portugal has a rich maritime history and at times was extremely wealthy due to the profits made from trade. This is reflected in these amazing coaches used by royalty and religious heads. They had coaches for every purpose from basic transportation in bad weather to ceremonial coaches, childrens coaches, sedan chairs, coaches for state visits etc. The oldest one dated from the 1200's.
