Kilkenny, Ireland

Our last night in Ireland we headed out to one of the pubs to try the local brew along with some more of that yummy soda bread.

The next morning we had a look at Killarney Castle.

This is a fort from the iron age, about 300-400 AD.

Killarney National Park

We drove through the park at dusk and the place had this eerie stillnes and quiet to it. The trees here are all old with really gnarly roots and trunks and its all very magical. Had we had more time this would have been a great place for some tramping.

A lone goat came right up close to the car and we also saw several deer.

Dingle Peninsula & Gallarus Oratory

This is the Gallarus Oratory, an early church built some time between the 6th and 9th centuries. It is built of stacked stones, no motar was used, and yet it's completely watertight.

Dingle Peninsula

The weather was closing in on us on this drive, but this just added to the dramatic scenery.
