EGYPT - The 'Obstacle Course'

Mohammed, our guide, loving it

Not sure why it's called the obstacle course, maybe someone thought about joining the rocks up with ropes once or mayb it's popular with rock climbers, no idea. Wicked spot though. We spent extra time here as one of the vehicles in our convoy had broken down and some of our drivers went back to help fix it.

EGYPT - Giant Mushrooms

Further on into the desert we arrived in the White Desert, which is marked with these weird rock creations, which look a lot like mushrooms. They look like they were formed by wind erosion.

EGYPT - White Desert Camp

The chicken with the giant mushroom, one of the surreal rock creations Mohammed showed us.

Our camping spot amongst the rock formations. We slept outside under the stars. It was pretty cold but everyone was well prepared with lots of layers, sleeping bags and blankets, not to mention barbecued bananas, chocolate and dates in our tummys. The stars were awesome! Lots of shooting ones too...
